A builder-grade upgrade
Many homes built during the recent growth came with laminate or basic granite counters. Replacing them with quartz or marble can be expensive and disruptive. Epoxy countertops are poured directly over existing counters, creating a new seamless surface with the look of natural stone. There is no demolition, and the kitchen is out of service for only a few days.
Styles
- White marble with gray or gold veining
- Black or charcoal with metallic streaks
- Soft grays and concrete looks
- Bold colors for bars and game rooms
Each counter is hand made, so the veining is unique to your home.
How it is done
We protect cabinets, floors and walls, then sand existing counters and repair any damage. A primer and base coat are applied, followed by the design layer. We pour, manipulate and torch the resin to remove bubbles, then let it cure. Edges are finished smooth and a clear flood coat completes the surface. Sinks and cooktops are removed and reinstalled.
Where it fits
Kitchens, islands, basement bars, outdoor kitchens under cover, bathroom vanities, laundry counters and office desks all work. Businesses use epoxy for coffee bars, reception desks and salon stations.
Durability and care
Epoxy is waterproof and resists most stains. It is not as heat resistant as stone, so trivets are required for hot pans. Cutting directly on the surface will scratch it, so always use a cutting board. Clean with mild soap and water; avoid abrasive pads. Minor scratches can be polished out, and surfaces can be recoated if needed.
Timeline
Most kitchens take two to three days, plus a few days of light use while the epoxy fully cures. Small vanities can be done in a day or two. We provide a schedule so you can plan meals.
Cost
Epoxy counters typically cost less than quartz or marble and much less than full replacement with demolition. Pricing depends on square footage, edge details and design complexity.
Questions
Can you pour over tile?
Yes, after filling grout lines and leveling.
Does it smell?
Low-odor products are used, but ventilation is still recommended.
Will it yellow?
We use UV-resistant resins, but counters near bright windows may change slightly over many years.

Outdoor kitchens and covered patios
Many newer homes include covered outdoor living spaces with grills and bar areas. Epoxy counters can work in these spaces if they stay under roof and out of direct sun, since sunlight can yellow resins over time. We use UV-resistant topcoats and recommend covers when not in use. For fully exposed counters, we may suggest other materials and explain why.
Commercial counters
Coffee shops, salons, offices and boutiques use epoxy for service counters, reception desks and display tables. The seamless surface is easy to sanitize, and the design can match branding colors or the look of marble at a lower cost. We schedule work after hours to keep businesses open and pour in stages so surfaces are ready on time.
Planning the design
Before we pour, we sketch where the main veins will run and how they will wrap over edges. You can approve that layout in person so the finished counter matches your vision, from soft subtle movement to bold, dramatic streaks.
Edges and backsplashes
The edge profile changes the look of a counter. Square edges feel modern, while rounded edges are softer and friendlier for families with small children. We can also carry the resin up a short backsplash so the counter and wall flow together without a seam where water collects. These details are discussed at the consultation and included in your quote.
